PTFE gaskets are well-suited for extremely corrosive environments, with the exception of beer and wine. This highly versatile material, also known as Teflon, has a wide resistance to chemicals and temperatures (-100°F - 450°F) and is virtually free of extractables. However, due to its plastic nature, it may experience creep and cold flow. For optimal usage, PTFE gaskets are recommended for high pressure clamps and should be avoided in areas with significant temperature changes.
